The inspiration for the piece came from a legend I read where the Winter Wind and the Spring Wind and all there children had a great lacrosse game. The game went on for a long time before Winter Wind finally scored the winning goal coming from the North. Because he won, Summer Wind’s children would have to flee when Winter Wind comes from the north, which is why some birds fly South for the winter. My new piece shows Winter Wind Scoring the final goal.I’ve tried to create a sense of wind through the action of the piece which spirals around like a tornado.   The costuming is based on a drawing of Chocktaw Ball Players by George Catlin.Feel free to contact me with any questions.
